Setting off from the charming village of Turckheim, we enjoyed a scenic cycle through the heart of the Alsace wine region, following quiet paths that wound between rows of vineyards and through a collection of picturesque villages. The route offered beautiful views of rolling vine-covered hills, colourful flower displays, and traditional half-timbered houses that make this part of France so distinctive.

Arriving in Colmar, we secured our bikes and set off on foot to explore the town’s enchanting historic centre. Wandering through the cobblestone streets, we admired the beautifully preserved Alsatian architecture, with its timber-framed houses, brightly painted façades, and centuries of history around every corner. Our walk eventually brought us to the famous Little Venice district, where colourful houses line the tranquil canal. To experience it from a different perspective, we climbed aboard a traditional flat-bottomed boat and drifted gently along the water, passing beneath small bridges and alongside the charming waterfront buildings. It was a wonderfully peaceful way to soak up the character and beauty of one of Alsace’s most iconic locations.
