Can anyone please help me identify what the issue is?

I have done the following:

Cleaned every thread in the crankset

Changed crankset

Changed pedals

Changed chainring

Changed chainring bolts

Replaced bb bearings (it is a t47 hope bb)

Cleaned seatpost, seatpost clamp and saddle

Changed seatpost, seatpost clamp and saddle

Cleaned rear axle and rear freehub area and cassette area

Changed rear wheel including the casette

Cleaned the inside of the seattube

Tightened every bolt on the frame

The clicking persists on every right pedal down stroke.

I am slowly losing my mind.

Steel frame.

Please help.

Depends how old you are… Could be your knee if you’ve recently turned 30

I want to pull a couple of threads:

1 – Does the clicking stop if you kick your heels out a bit (not so much as to unclip)?

2 – How tight was the bearing fit when you pressed new ones into your Hope cups?

  3. I don’t know what to suggest other than what you have done, but to say that sucks man. Best of luck finding it.

Shoe cleat… what’s the wear like on them? Sounds a little like there’s a gap between the cleat and the pedal at the top of the pedal stroke. Like your hooking the pedal up and the cleat is tapping back down on it.

Grap the seat and try to bend the seatpost in multiple directions. I found the source of creaking on my bike exactly like this today

  6. Is one of the crank arms tapping the rear chain stay when you’re peddling? Worth checking that there’s enough clearance as they can flex a little when peddling – happened to me
