ENGWE have released the N1 Pro commuter ebike. It comes with a torque sensor mid drive motor, carbon fibre frame and a lighting system you’ve not seen before anywhere.
I travelled from Wakefield to London to put the ENGWE N1 Pro though its paces and test it in the U.K. capital, probably the best place in the country to test a commuter ebike.

Thing is, is the N1 Pro ENGWE’s best commuter ebike to date? Let’s find out.
Apologies for loss of sound at 43 minutes for 90secs.

  1. Great review, perfect weather – and you really covered some ground 👍
And Engwe must be over the moon with all your photos of their new bike in front of so many London landmarks 😂
But you literally had me holding my breath as you crossed Westminster Bridge, as the last time I cycled over it I had two near collisions – where tourists stepped out BACKWARDS whilst taking selfies in front of the Houses of Parliament. Luckily it was a dry day, and my brakes were good…🤬
Good to hear how well the bike frame absorbed the bumps, and the mid-motor seemed whisper quiet.
The app and all the functions also look a good step-up in quality for Engwe – so hope some of these eventually make their way into their cheaper models (disk lock and geofencing please).
Loved the light bar – no missing that at night.

My biggest worry with the Mapfour would be someone pinching it (carrying it off), because that futuristic frame is really distinctive and turned quite a few heads as folk walked past it.
Think that is a fair range for a lightweight commuting eBike. Did you try riding it without any assist?
Love the bike, and a great price. But I am still going for the L20 Boost – thanks to your review. ATB

  2. I think they made a good choice going for the Ananda mid-drive – I'm very pleased with my p275st for hill-climbing. It's actually made it easily up some hills I thought I would struggle with. The only hill that's defeated me was a steep gravel track in an old quarry, and the loose surface was more than half the problem. I'm looking forward to seeing you review the two L20 3.0 models. It sounds like the saddle is the same as on my p275st – my sister said it'll be comfortable once it's worn my arse in lol

  3. I have watched a lot of your reviews lately because it's time for me to upgrade from my old bike that have served me well for the last 4 years. I live in Sweden and use it for commuting to work. I actually sold my car and switched to use the bike in litterally all weather, all seasons. It is a choice I have never regret making, even though the weather conditions sometimes makes me question my sanity.

Biking brings you a weird feeling of freedom, Weird I say because you are more limited than with a car and bikes have their own problems. I guess the difference is that the bike problems are in most cases of the kind you can master yourself. You can take paths and experience the environment in ways otherwise impossible. It is truly good for the mental health!

I originally had my eyes on the E26 and that was probably the first of your videos I watched. My scope changed dramatically when I saw your review of the LE20 and I realized that with range and cargo abilities I could have so much more use of the bike and after much deliberation I chose to go that path instead.

I'm now eagerly awaiing my new LE20!

    Keep up the good work!

  4. Well, apart from moving something in CapCut and having odd photos pop up at the end. 😂

I’m pleased with it, I’m getting better at filming and sound now. Got to a place where I’m happier with the results.

    Thank you kindly.

  5. A wonderful bike. ENGWE is really good ❤️ London is so beautiful, but there's real concern about England's economic situation. England is no longer competitive. Hopefully, England can still recover.

  6. Hello, I live in Germany and have watched a lot of your videos the last few days. On the Engwe website it looks like there are two new bikes coming out from 1st April. The L20 3.0 Boost and the L20 3.0 Pro. Will you be reviewing these? Do you know what the major difference is with the 3.0 versions. Looks like they have full front and rear suspension and they've added hydraulic brakes, which I think you said was one of the only issues you had with the L20 2.0 Boost. I'm really excited to see full reviews of these new bikes!

  7. Nice review, thank you! Is that little square next to your shifter a camera? Could you share the model and maybe a link for that please?
