I've never really suffered from serious arse pain on a bike, other than a few stock, new bike supplied saddles, but even then, few and far between. However, I had one of these as a kid and rode it without bib shorts and pure comfort. I don't think I'll go bib short free now, but I'm hoping the comfort factor is still as good.
I'm sure there are some people who can not get on with them as everybody is so different, but I really hope I'm not one of them!

B17? They’re great, the best for touring.
I also have a Brooks Professional I want to get on with but it’s a tad too narrow….
My husband has Brooks in all his bikes. I want one. 🤞 for birthday.
I also recently goes into B17 Bandwagon (own 2 of them, brown)
they are great once seasoned, the comfortness is super good.
Thanks for the quick replies. It does seem to be the most popular choice for the touring bikes.
I’ve just been reading the leather care instructions and it’s suggesting to feed the leather predominantly from the underside, which I wasn’t aware of.
Brooks is the best. Enjoy the break in period.
i had one, and never got on with it. wanted to like it, but even after maaany many miles and many many rides, ass was never happy. switched to an SQLabs 612, sized for my sit bones, and i can ride for daaaaaays. also i wasnt paranoid about the leather upkeep. you can’t tell my oldest and newest sqlabs saddles apart, the quality is really top-notch. i hope you’re happy with your purchase though! 🚵
overpriced and not comfortable, but glad its working for you!
Enjoy it! Treat the leather occasionally
I had several Brooks saddles, for me the rails always broke. I gave up on them.
Personally, I’m more a fan of the sprung version (the Flyer). Many times, I’ve swapped out the springs for softer ones cannibalized from a cheap Walmart saddle, though I see to be finding my current one’s springs to be providing a good amount of suspension.
