Removed and disassembled the whole thing – spring was snapped as expected (meaning no tension on the chain)! Chain is also significantly too short as you guys ID’d, thank you 🙇♂️
My best attempt at manufacturing a replacement spring and it seems to have worked out brilliantly! Couldn’t keep the turns as ‘stacked’ as the original so ended up being 2 turns less, but reinstalled under tension and gear shifts have become CRISPY (video to follow)
