All the best with the charity ride and a clean Brompton is a happy Brompton.

Looks great!
One small thing I’ve learned over time: I try to wash my Brompton with as little water as possible, and never under pressure. Mostly just a damp microfiber cloth. The bike is full of cup-and-cone bearings (headset and hubs), so I’d rather not encourage water to find its way inside.
For the brake tracks on the rims, I usually wipe them with isopropyl alcohol. It removes brake dust and grime really well and leaves a clean braking surface.
After all, it’s a bicycle. It’s meant to get a little dusty. And with a steel frame, I’d rather not force water into places where it can take a long time to dry. I’d much rather have a dusty Brompton than a rusty Brompton. 🙂
