  1. In all seriousness did they just melt a bunch of (red) drinks bottles together on the frame?

Ooh, post if you figure it out, please. I like how much it will annoy lame people such as in this thread.

i’m not sure what it’s called, but i’ve seen this same stuff wrapped around a lot of the delivery e-bikes in new york. i think they do it to protect the frame from getting beat up since a lot of the delivery drivers actually rent out those bikes instead of owning them.

It kinda seems like they use some sort of netting as a stencil. Base, stencil base, remove stencil, clear. No idea though, it looks like it has thickness to it so it might be a textured wrap.

  5. I saw something similar on a car steering wheels few decades ago. Back then it was some kind of tape that you wrapped around the steering wheel. I’m not sure if it was shrinking a bit or was it the glue nevertheless it was almost impossible to remove

I was wondering the same thing first time visited New York. Looks like some thick vinyl wrap. Maybe it comes in rolls

  7. The actual bike is throwing me through a loop, 700c wheels gigantic fork huge chainring. What is this thing??

I’ve always wondered what my commuter bike would look like dipped in canned cranberry sauce and a DH fork and 20ft of cable housing.

  9. Colored vinyl harness tape. A lot of the ebike shops in nyc that cater to delivery workers sell it.

    What is this whole thong?

Skinny road wheels on a hardtail MTB frame – so you’re lugging around the weight of a strong frame for nothing, because any rough riding or heavy cargo that would test even half that frame’s strength would just fuck those wheels up.

We’ve also got a fender that’s very far away from the wheel, which in most cases you could justify as allowing fork movement, but the radius of the fender is still so much smaller than the wheel, that it would touch the edges before that fork has travelled even half of its stroke.

Is this a trollbike? As in one that is built for ragebaiting? Cos its working on me.

It is not any kind of bar tape. I’m absolutely certain of that. It’s not done in segments. At least entire tubes if not the entire frame is one wrapper

I’ve seen it before and it’s probably something like electric tape or something similar, definitely not a bike specific product. If you’re looking to protect your bike there are companies that make full frame wraps that don’t stick out like a sore thumb, that’s my suggestion.

  13. I recently wrapped my bicycle using car paint protective film, the 3M stuff. It was pretty cheap. Fiddly to look neat but if you just want function its quite easy.
