I recently quit my job to do my first ever bike packing trip, I rode over 1500km across 8 countries, over mountains, through snow, rain, thunder & lightening on a second hand bike Id bought a week before with almost 25kg of luggage on it. It was a hell of an adventure and challenge for me.
I did it to visit Europe’s biggest outdoor expo in Italy, so I could network and hopefully find a job as a product designer there. I got so much positive feedback and have now been in conversations with a couple of companies to do another trip like that.
I filmed loads of bits of it and have been trying to put it into a video but the run-up and first 4 days of the two week trip have already reached 30 minutes of edited footage!
To me its all interesting and I love watching all the scenery go by but I am going to be biased, its my first real adventure! I need to know what other people are interested in so I can craft the correct story. Then I can show this to the companies and hopefully lock down these jobs!
If anyone wants to have a look its here: https://youtu.be/AH9y_Q-WmUE?si=_6CqIjW7AYgIFBIb&t=245
Any constructive/supportive advice, thoughts, ideas, criticism etc would be really really appreciated. (I think a cut down version is the most important but I’m not sure what I should and shouldn’t include)

If you want a product design job then stop spamming YouTube videos to Reddit and focus on learning product design.
Sorry to be negative, but the internet is awash in people’s overdone bike trip videos. I know it seems like a revelation and you want to tell the world, but you should really create this for yourself and friends and family foremost, not for us or anyone else. And if you are looking to create something that helps land you a job, this place likely wont be of much help – you need to craft it for the specific job you are seeking. Not trying to be harsh, but helpful – good luck with the job search!
