Let’s talk cardio machines: upright vs recumbent bikes šŸš“ā€ā™‚ļø.

The upright bike gets you doing more functional work, engaging your core and mimicking real-life movement. šŸ”„

The recumbent? 😓 Comfortable, but not as effective if your goal is fat loss, fitness, or overall conditioning.

  1. I rode the bike for 50 years…around 20 km a day…its the best leg/back/abdominal workout…now i’m resting since 7 yearsšŸ˜•ā€¦time to get fit again😊

  2. If you want to feel the difference in the two you need to take a nice long ride on a recumbent after several months of only upright and you will discover as I did the the muscles on the back of you legs and the top of you calves have gotten a workout that they never had on a recumbent. 😊

  3. Are we going to trust two muscle-bound middle-aged men, sitting in gym, talking about something entirely unrelated and incomparable to road bikes… recumbent or otherwise?
    I think not.
These two blokes are in love with only one thing… what they see in the mirror.
I wouldn’t take their advice on sitting! Let alone something that actually moves.

  4. I don't need low level core work while I'm on the bike. I do McGill Big 3 and other core exercises. I bike for cardio fitness. I love the recumbent and I hate how the upright bike feels on my crotch. That simple.

  5. Recumbent is far better in terms of casual cardio. On an upright bike it feels like a workout and I can only go 30 minutes before I’m bored. Recumbent I can do while watching TV/youtube/phone scrolling whatever. I did 42 miles on the recumbent today at max resistance and watched a lot of YouTube and didn’t sweat my ass off šŸ˜‚

  6. Views are going to stay low if don't give complete answers to the video titles. Yt a world wide thing, I'm on a different continent. I can infer benefits of recumbent but don't know what recumbent benefits U think r. Are U going to with hold training tips till got 5 sessions out of me? Cause U withheld the reason I clicked on this video

  7. As an old biker who is now using a stationary recumbent i admit that the recumbent don't use the chore but the advantage is that it hits the back of your l legs and high calves. If you don't believe me do a hard workout on a recumbent after using you upright and feel where its sore afterwards.

  8. If your goal is to get a good cardio workout, I think that an upright and recumbent are relatively equal. The best way to compare the two is by Watts/Calories or Heart Rate. I have found I can hit roughly the same numbers regardless of which I am using that day.

  9. I ride my recumbent bike 6 days a week, a minimum of 300.minutes a week, usually 70 miles a week. Yes, not fast , yes not too arduous, but this old gal at 86 YOA, has been doing it for 4 plus years. When covid hit I didn't want to go to any gym. Now it's simply easier to exercise at home.

  10. My orthopedic doctor recommend I use a recumbent bike to help strengthen my legs, that are weak from an autoimmune disease. This has been the best thing I’ve done. My legs are stronger and I’ve even noticed an improvement in my hips. I’m petite and the upright bike was very uncomfortable. It made my back sore.
