Hello! This is my first bike build ever, haha. As the title says, I found the bike in the trash bin at my old apartment complex. I told myself if it was my size, I would take it, and lo and behold, it was! Most of the parts I used are from my local co-op, and I got the shifters and wheels on eBay. Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out, although my painting skills could use some help, lol.

Frame & Fork : Nishiki Olympic 12 (late 70s early 80s)
Shifters: Shimano ultegra 11sp
Crank : Shimano Dura ace 7800 crank?
Front Derailleur: Shimano Dura ace 7800?
Rear Derailleur: Shimano grx 810
Cassette: Random Bucklos 11-34t ?
Stem adapter: 1” to 1&1/8 origin 8 adapter
Tires: Teravail 38s
Wheels: alto velo
Saddle : Selle italia smp
Handle bars: Salsa cow-chipper 52
Pedals: Random ones from coop

Things I want to change
– Saddle isn’t right for me. Ill probably get swap it for something like a Fizik
– Get a better paint job for obvious reasons :/
– Once these tires wear out upgrade to some 42s, I’ve seen some people manage it without mods to the frame
– stem adapter, if anyone knows of a better looking adapter please lmk I really don’t like this “goose-neck” look
– Get the proper decals. I was unable to find any for the Olympic 12 so I was stuck with these

  1. Great work overall! The stem is fine looking in relation to the saddle tho, those Peyronie’s disease ass looking saddles creep me out

Dumpster Nishiki with 11sp Ultegra is a proper xbiking glow up. Rough paint just means it has a story now.

The quill adapter looks fine. They all end up looking like that, even the $80 nitto ones. You can wrap the exposed 22.2mm quill part in a scrap of handlebar tape or a piece of an old bike and slide some 1 1/8” spacers over it if it bothers you.
