Bargain basement bikes at the Stafford Classic Motorcycle Show Bonhams Auction. Plus I meet members of the Italian Motorcycle owners Club. I also ask Henry Cole, host of the Motorbike Show, what really happened to Pete the Restorer!

NOTE: The owner of the Ducati 250 Narrowcase was Mark CREMIN, not Mark Prumin as stated in the video.

  1. In the us they would call it a ‘correction”. Collector bikes have been over priced for far too long. They are made to be ridden, not be put away in a climate controlled garage.

  2. Prices had to drop really. A lot of the people who appreciate these bikes are older now and for one reason or another can’t have them I.e failing health, can’t afford,or like me just not willing to pay the stupid prices? I had a lot of these bikes when I was younger (fs1e,GT250,GS550,GS1000e to name but a few . They are all lovely bikes but didn’t ride that well in comparison to today’s bikes ?there just nostalgic toys for most people (me too) I go out from time to time on a little 125 these days and forgot just how much fun they are 😂 but this is just all my opinion. ✌🏻

  3. I have a Suzuki GT750-A. I've had it some years but now have the time and cash to get it restored. Engine rebiuld even with rebore and pistons will be the cheapest part. Exhausts are silly money (my period Allspeeds need rechroming) and paint will be a small fortune.

  4. I don’t get this video, all of the bikes seemed to sell really well and for good money so how is that a price crash/the market is dying????

  5. People finally wisen up and getting away from unneccessary/ dangerous☠ 2 wheels and finding comfort/ safety in 4 wheels for a fraction of the cost looks like to me.🧙‍♂️
Motorcycle riding mostly a costley < speeding tickets/ evading bad news 👎🏻😩.
Rode street/ dirt over 50 yrs
< since 13 > before finally realizing i DONT need to do this anymore ! Owned 62 street/dirt bikes over the yrs.
Relief to be rid of all motor cycle related stuff/ " junk.
Now a daze if i want to go for a little ride i get on my dark green Schwinn continental 10 speed bike < with goose neck gear shifter– higher bars — steel rims " stronger " heavy duty tubes/ liners " hate flats " and a wider spring loaded more confortable seat, even a longer milk crate mounted longways securly on a rack in back of seat.
Of course with front + Back lights. Good locks to try to prevent theft. You'd be suprised, you still " feel the ride on 2 wheels " you get on a motor cycle, but are much safer and no more speeding/ evading tickets. I mostly ride the sidewalks ( don't want to get hit/killed by some jerk texting on cell phone )
I dont need to go speedind around on a motorcycle to enjoy " going for a ride. 🥴🥳👍👋🤠

  6. What an absolute case of scaremongering to sell more views and get more subscribers to Derek’s YouTube channel. Prices are down yes but most bikes in the auction sold very close to or within the range of the guide given. Bikes that fall foul of large price drops are mongrels that have been put back together from different bikes or where there are date discrepancies. Very few people other than traders make money out of Classic and vintage bikes and cars and if you were an investor will have learnt it’s best to stick to stocks and shares. Investors were not the main reason for price increases this was down to folks having too much money from Covid after 12 months of savings finally having money to get that bike or car they always wanted. Once this country gets some kind of stability prices will settle and I feel they will reach the bottom at the end of next year. There have been some unsustainable prices demanded for bikes that had to fall and thankfully the current economic situation has altered this. A Vincent Black Shadow at nearly £100,000 down to an FS1E at £15,000 were plainly way above where they should be so I’m glad the markets h moved back. No need for scaremongering though Derek as we do not want to see shows like Stafford disappear. Bonhams have already decided not to do the automobilia anymore on the Saturday which I loved because they think there’s not enough interest and the return is too small for them to run the staff another day.

  7. You may ask whatever you wish for anything but youl only ever receive what someone is willing to pay … when you have spiralling living costs then luxuries are always the first to to tumble so hardly a surprise 🤷🏻‍♂️

  8. The reality is these trophy purchasing egos screw prices if you want to have alot good but keep your crap in your garages we riders don't need posers with money
