I think I had that same Trek. Carbon tubes in alum lugs w/105?
Good ride for years.

Ok, cracking me up the the classic Merckx with the classic Campy is the after, and current day gorilla Trek is the before. Are you experiencing time backwards?

Better colour coordination in 1992 otherwise they could be the same picture! 😂

I don’t recommend cycling in open toe sandals, the power transfer is poor, and high risk of injury.

Both beautiful…although the current jersey could do with a bit more style ;P.

R/bikefashion is calling! Sweet rides – I raced a 2300 in my 20’s; was the first guy on the team with a carbon frame and integrated shifters. Never had a Merckx though!

EM still makes a rim brake bike in 2026?

The Merckx is appropriate since it looks like you’d cannibalize me on the road. You look fast in both eras.

Vintage all the way for me. I like colors and shiny paint.

That Trek 2200 is a great bike! I had one, but I think it was a later 90s model, like 97. But I have to admit, I splurged a few years ago for what I figured would be my last bike. The 2012 Cannondale Synapse was a great bike, but it was getting to the point of requiring a lot of new parts, so I decided to upgrade. I love my BMC Di2 Ultegra Road Machine.
