After 10 years, my epic bikepacking beast gave up the ghost. My Surly Wednesday has hauled this 300lbs cyclist and all his gear over thousands of miles of single track, dirt and gravel, all across the west. Surly, if you’re out there, you make one hell of a bike.
At least it died doing what it loved: biking with a bunch of Scouts to buy icecream.

I just hugged my bike a little tighter than usual after reading this
i’d say that frame did a pheromonal job for the mission it was assigned to. you might just ask Surly if they can do anything. Maybe at the least they will send you a T shirt

Personally I would have expected more than 10 years from a steel frame.
One more reason to buy a bike from a manufacturer with a lifetime frame warranty.

Such a sick set up you had there! My favorite color as well. Personally, if I had a bike that long and that many stories on it, I would get it fixed instead of replacing it.

Set the frame and fork for display on the wall if it’s no longer possible to have it fixed.

You had your money’s worth. Just remember the good times. I wouldn’t be trying to repair that if I was you.
