EuroVelo 6 Detours is a curated selection of destinations and attractions developed within the Active2Public Transport project, supported by the Interreg Danube Region Programme co-funded by the European Union.

The selection highlights attractions located in the wider vicinity of the EuroVelo 6 cycling route, which can be reached by combining cycling with public transport options such as trains, buses, or other local connections.

All featured locations are generally accessible within approximately one to two hours from the main EuroVelo 6 corridor, offering easy and sustainable opportunities for short detours beyond the cycling route.

The aim of this selection is to promote integrated and sustainable mobility by connecting cycling infrastructure with public transport networks, making a wider range of cultural, natural, and historical attractions more accessible to cyclists and visitors.

Reachable by direct bus or train from Osijek in around 45 minutes to an hour on the EuroVelo 6, Našice is a Slavonian town first mentioned in 1229 and shaped for nearly two centuries by the Croatian noble Pejačević family, with a Baroque-Classicist castle now housing the Town Museum, the birthplace memory of the pioneering Croatian composer Dora Pejačević, a Franciscan church with roots going back to the 13th-century Knights Templar, and one of Croatia’s most beautiful landscape parks.
