Really happy with how this turned out. Tried keeping it period correct with the xt m750 group rather than a modern 1×12. This also allowed me to keep the original coda crank arms.
Pretty much only kept the wheels and the saddle, all other parts have been changed.
Chainring, handlebars and cable ends are from sumo.

Love how committed you stayed to the period build with the XT M750 kit. That’s a tough call because 1x setups are way simpler for trail riding, but a triple with thumb shifters just feels right on a classic hardtail like this. The yellow paint pops hard against the silver components, and red cable housing is a great touch against any frame color. Pairing it with the original Coda cranks was smart too, since those arms have way more character than any modern replacement. The Sumo cable ends are a nice detail, those small period bits really tie the whole build together. The dirt on the tires tells me you actually ride it, which is the best compliment you can give a project bike.
Btw does anybody have an idea what I could use the mounting points on the sides of the seat stay for? 🙂
