This was my first time working on a bike and I made the mistake of putting the rear tyre on the wrong way. They’re tubeless so it’s got the sealant in it so I think it’ll be messy to change it. Is it worth it?
Its not that hard . Hardest part will be setting the bead back in place. If you did it once you can do it again. Maybe you could line upnthe logo with the valve like a good mechanic should.

This is how you learn to bikewrench. By screwing it up the first time and having to redo it.

That tread pattern is kinda bisexual. AC/DC. Goes both ways.

its not worth stressing over that’s for sure… id do it on a day where I have absolutely nothing to do… until then id continue to ride it. (if it bothers you.. it’ll get done sooner 😊)

I intentionally run my rear tire backwards as it upsets some people

My tires are identical, but they have arrows for front or rear. Not sure what to do. I mean, if the rear one can roll forwards, why can’t the front one roll backwards. Right?
Quirky-Fix-1106 on
I’ve been running my tears reversed forever. With the rear you can install one way to maximize braking traction & the opposite to maximize pedaling traction (how I install mine) so either way is justifiable. I’d be more worried if the front tire was backwards.

Some people do this deliberately so they can choose max traction for accelerating vs braking.
The difference will be small. I’d just ride it as is, and change it if you are dissatisfied.

Better braking that way but you did not line up the logos with the valve stems on either, so they both need to come off anyways.

My neighbor runs his front tire backwards intentionally, claims he gets better braking performance.
Edit: just realized we’re talking about the rear tire. Still probably helps

Are you a pro? If so yeah change it, the time and watt loss will matter.
Anything else eh. Maybe be caution on fast turns as it COULD break traction but it won’t ruin anything

I’ve done it. Doesn’t matter.

I was commuting home one day and waiting for a light I realized my front tire was backwards. I was ligit’ embarrassed. I flipped but it was tubed. Tubeless I would leave alone.

change it

I did the same thing recently. Just bit the bullet and changed it. It took 5 mins. Wasn’t a big deal at all. I just wiped each side of the rim with a paper towel, reseated it, added a little more sealant and was on my way.

You stop on a dime, but acceleration is sketchy.

I’d leave it, unless I absolutely needed the ever-so-slight improvement in rear braking.
