I do the same with mine in the UK.
Mine is a ladies old (second hand) Trek with Bontrager components. Is a really good bike which works perfectly fine and it's really good for commuting. BUT… it looks old, heavy, rusty, and with the paint going off the frame. Nobody would stole a rusty, old ladies bike 😆😂
Put an AirTag under the seat and tape it.

That's one of the few things I never understood. I lived in the Netherlands for years and I am back in Germany… My bikes were always in good shape and taken care of. No stickers or anything, even now I have a good bike which you can see was expensive. I just use a really good lock and I never had any problems and I park in absolutely bad places 😂

What did I do to make my bike not be stolen? Lock it inside a garage
It depends on the thief. With this method you WILL be protected by the average "make a quick buck thief" that only looks out for expensive things, but you are unlucky if you find someone that steals out of the utility that the object gives lol
