I decided to ditch the stock wheels that came with my Topstone 3 and swap them out with some carbon. I couldn’t resist $330 shipped from China. Topped them off with some Hutchinson Caracal tires running tubeless.
It was my first time doing tubeless and I am pretty excited with how straightforward it was. Took a spin around the neighborhood and my initial impression is that this setup really feels different. Have 70 miles up rides coming up this weekend and I will report back.

What’s up with the chain stay? Does this bike have some sort of soft tail setup?
I swear bikes are like 50% tire, 25% wheel, and 25% everything else. So this is effectively 75% of a new bike! Add in the conversion to tubeless and it is just a completely different experience, i’d imagine.
I’ve been on team schwalbe but those hutchinson tires have certainly been on my radar. how do they ride?
