Someone drove into the bike stands on our corporate parking lot and hit my bike. Bike was frame-locked to the stand, so not only is my back wheel taco‘d but the frame is done, too.
And to add to that, the bike stand my bike is in, is actually bent, too – and the one next to it is also bent.
Can’t believe it, but then again I’m lucky, as this is technically not mine but my companies bike…

It’s hard to tell exactly what the issue is here: back wheel bent? Did someone back into your bike? 💔 totally sucks, I’m so sorry

There must be camera footage available, no?

I would definitely be asking my employer for the footage, one of your coworkers owes you a new bike.

I think this means NBD is around the corner, since the company will provide you with a new one.

I never thought about this…but i may start locking my bike up with my front wheel exposed. Put the back wheel in first. Much cheaper to replace the front wheel. Although your damage is more extensive than just a bent wheel.

It doesn’t take much for a car to wreak havoc.

I’m trying to understand what physically happened.
I can see your bike has racks to the left and the right of it, and there is a chest-high set of racks above.
What vehicle could roll over your wheel (just your wheel) with its tire and not have hit its bed on the thick steel rack above or the racks to the left and right?

That’s terrible news about the bike, but I’m glad you have insurance coverage. Out of curiosity, is it your personal automobile or bicycle insurance, your employer’s property insurance, or something else?
Also, I wonder if your employer could install a bollard or two to protect the bike stands from other clumsy drivers.

Your job needs to install concert pillars to stop vehicles from hitting pedestrians. What if a person was bending down unlocking their bike and a car ran into them. Glad nobody was hurt but it needs to be protection.

That sucks. I’m sorry that happened to you.

So the bike is insured right? Sucks to find your bike like that but you should get it replaced if it is insured…
