Just shift to a lower gear and build up the momentum before the incline, nothing to it!

Five minutes hanging out on a drawbridge, watching a freighter sail underneath is a commuting problem? “My steak is too juicy, my lobster is too buttery.”. Lucky bastard.

I used to have two parallel drawbridges on my commute. They were about 3/4mi apart. While I used to love waiting, I’d sometimes see a ship headed toward one and then try to decide if I could bust ass over to the other one before it went up, too.

Howdy neighbor!
I’ve been stuck in that bridge many times too. At least it’s a nice view most of the time. Hopefully the wind wasn’t blowing the sewage treatment plant into your face.

Hah, we have same in Auckland NZ Viaduct Harbour, but I can’t be bothered waiting so usually take a different route.

You’re brave to use the bike lane there. I ride the sidewalk every single time.

Casco Bay Bridge! I’ve only seen it up once or twice (granted, I don’t cross it much more than couple round trips a year) but honestly I usually hope this will be the time I get to see a cool big boat passing through.

I keep a short cigar and lighter on my bike for these occasions.

Always so much fun trash in the bike lane on that bridge too! I had to swerve around an entire air conditioning unit a few years ago.

Totally thought that was a building. At least it’s a nice day!

It’s not a delay if you pedal hard enough
