Picked this guy up, and touched it. Topeak rack for baby carrier, trigger shifter upgrade. Wider handlebars, Walmart grips are getting swapped out for nicer ones and so are the pedals and onto my wife’s. Closer stem and a cyclometer. Not going to be doing much trail riding atm. Might get those hybrid wheels with the flat in the middle since it going to be on pavement and flat dirt trails in my area. Any recommendations for anything on this would be appreciated. Unsure what more to do with it.

Oh man this brings me back. I had that exact bike back around 1998-1999. First mountain bike I ever bought new. My parents put up half the cost and I earned the remainder by mowing lawns as an 8th grader. I thought the Jett front fork was the coolest thing ever.
That’s a very Excellent bicycle and great rear rack. I have two bicycles, a 14 yrs old Trek and a vintage Nishiki, and both have rear racks and panniers, may I suggest a simple set of durable panniers , because it’s Alot easier to carry a few tools and locks than a backpack. Also, I have Mirracycle bicycle mirror on both too, definitely let’s me see what’s behind in vehicle traffic and other riders too. Just those two suggestions, thanks for the great photos of a great Specialized bicycle indeed.
