Many greeks are living in denial. They blame the problem on everything but themselves, or, say the problem doesn't exist. They would rather cry and moan on the internet and tell tourists to not come back (That didn't work for Cairo/Egypt did it?). The last thing they want to do is: pick up a pair of gloves and get to work fixing or cleaning. If you live in denial, you lose your country. Simple.

People normalize it by saying: "Well what about San Francisco, or Berlin, or Frankfurt bla bla"… Comparing is for lazy people. When you compare, you normalize. Its a Weak mindset for weak and lazy people
The government is corrupt. They lied about their finances to get into the EU, now they blame the EU for their fines. It's stupid. Small example: Look at the stadiums for Athens 2004. What a total waste. Mutliply that logic out.
There's little investment in street-cleaning and making sure people are not doing anything illegal. If I can see 7 people shoot up in 1 week, then I'm sure any policeman can too.
Border checks and immigration policies are weak.
Anybody that critsizes this video hasn't seen my positive videos on Athens or Greece in general. They click on the negative one, watch it, leave their stupid 2 cents, and leave.
If you think the greek islands are great, or thessaloniki, or Patras, or Larissa… "So just come here", Then you're missing the entire point. You're next! Just give it 5-10 more years.
And lastly, people moaning about Omonia… This video features: Mount Lycabettus (A popular hill for tourists), The Main Train Station (Metaxourgeio / Attiki area), a restroom I found near the Acropolis of Athens, The abandoned olympic stadium at Faliro Olympic Beach, the run down Olympic village in Glyfada district and also some statues, again, not on Omonia… Not much was filmed in Omonia, the only the guy looking for door numbers, and the women smoking with child. Anybody that thinnks this is Omonia, obviously isn't Greek. Maybe a Turk?
…. and those of you who do blame Omonia, is this off-limits to greek people now? Are you not allowed to visit this place in your own country? and tourists cannot too? Interesting logic!! What suburbs is off-limits next?

I don't see why so many people are defending Athens, yes the city has beautiful places but it's actually mostly a nightmare, mainly because there were many war refuges coming to this city and because we didn't have enough space for them we just built buildings without a plan and now it's this ugly balkan nightmare
