Folks out there running P-Clamps on old steel MTB forks. What are you running?

I'm in the process of installing a Nitto rack on an old MTB with a burly fork, and the p-clamps that came with the rack just seem way too small. I know the Nitto p-clamps are 22mm. I picked up a set of 1" (25mm) hardware store p-clamps and they're just barely too big. Also, not a deal breaker but the hardware store ones feel super flimsy which is a bummer.

Curious what others are running in this situation. Sadly the fork only has fender eyelets, but if needed I could always run some super long legs to them, but thats last resort.
