i have a trip coming up and am having trouble finalizing the route. i was wondering if anyone could help me.

It’s a shame to forego Tuscany, especially if you’re willing to do gravel.

As someone living in Lausanne and that also bikepacked in the Same Rough direction (only until Varese 😅), i would say that Simplon is the best option to get through the alps but be advised, the First part is on the old pass Route which is really steep. And the second half on the big road with loads of trucks and camping cars. So my advice would be to do it either very early or Late in a day. I did it on a Saturday evening and no trucks and camping cars!

You can follow eurovelo 5 or 7 for some parts. And bring 1 or more strong locks if you have a nice bike!
