EuroVelo 6 Detours is a curated selection of destinations and attractions developed within the Active2Public Transport project, supported by the Interreg Danube Region Programme co-funded by the European Union.

The selection highlights attractions located in the wider vicinity of the EuroVelo 6 cycling route, which can be reached by combining cycling with public transport options such as trains, buses, or other local connections.

All featured locations are generally accessible within approximately one to two hours from the main EuroVelo 6 corridor, offering easy and sustainable opportunities for short detours beyond the cycling route.

The aim of this selection is to promote integrated and sustainable mobility by connecting cycling infrastructure with public transport networks, making a wider range of cultural, natural, and historical attractions more accessible to cyclists and visitors.

Reachable by direct high-speed Soko train from Belgrade in around 80 minutes on the EuroVelo 6, Subotica is a fairy-tale Art Nouveau city near the Hungarian border, with a colourful Zsolnay-tiled City Hall, a synagogue often called one of the most beautiful in Europe, a lively pedestrian Korzo lined with Secessionist facades, and the nearby lakeside resort of Palić, just 8 kilometres away, with its own Art Nouveau water tower, promenade, zoo, and wineries.
