Saw you guys there being interviewed and the crowd reaction when you guys said you were aiming to do it in under 8 hours 🙂 Was my first time doing the event and it was a blast but as you say its pretty tough 🙂 i had no experience of riding in a pack so that didnt help 🙂 oh and 56% were doing it for the first time 🙂

Having done this a couple of times with friends, I can't recommend it highly enough for all levels, even in a group (stronger riders = longer turns). Then collect at the feed stations, eat some of the bread and jam, and off you go. That last section, the drags, are surprisingly brutal. 1st year hot and dry; 2nd year, pissed down, and like the GCN boys, dried up. Great bants with other riders, good post-beer, and you're not allowed to drive straight away after the finish. I think it was a min 2-hour break (road stops and checked by the law).
As true Brits and Swedes, we got pissed and staggered back to the hotel.
Next you need to do the "swedish classic".

I've ridden Vätternrundan (albeit the old 298 km course) more times than I've eaten surströmming: two times to one, to be exact.
Some of my favorite GCN videos are when you guys kick into "10-year-old boys" mode. This one ranks quite highly on that scale. Nicely done! I hope we see more like this.
