I usually ride tires from 50mm up to a 61mm (2.4) on the front on this Shafer. Recently i decided to switch things up and try out the Vittoria Corsa Pro Control 42mm (measure out to 40mm on I25mm rims). They are excellent, and are my new default road tires. They roll fast and the cotton feel is amazing. I’d say the closest thing i’ve felt to this before would be the Rene Herse extralight tires, except these Vittorias don’t have sidewall weep issues, have better wet grip and better puncture protection. Still, i wouldn’t recommend using them past cat 2 gravel cause you’ll probably get a sidewall cut or slide out on a corner. They make an excellent choice for your road wheelset for your gravel bike. (Last pic: i now mostly run Vittoria Peyote 2.25s for my main off-road setup on Enve G23 wheels, but this is how the bike looks like on wider tires with 2.25 Thunder Burt in the rear and 2.4 Rick XC on the front).

    Sexy.

How long did you have to experiment to make a drink that matched your frame color?

  2. Awesome. I recently swapped out my 34mm Corsa N.EXTs that I use on my “road” wheels with the same 42mm Corsa Pro Controls. The Pro Controls are amazing to ride on, I can run low pressures, and they don’t get squirrely and stay fast rolling, they are my favorite road tires ever right now, so plush. I have ridden them on local chipseal, old urban paths that are returning to gravel, and pea gravel without issues. I wouldn’t take them out on big chunky stuff with sharp edges, but I have my other wheelset for that.

  3. what are your thoughts on the peyotes vs burts? i’m on dubnitals now but thinking what to try next
