I’d grown up riding department store mountain bikes as a kid. Until April of this year, I hadn’t been on a bike in 11+ years. This is now my second bike (other is a MTB), I picked it up used last week and right away hated the stock pedals on it.
I was sliding and losing my footing constantly on them. While I was out saddle shopping today, I asked a few bike shop salesmen for advice on if I should try going clipless. I had found some Giant Line MTB shoes new on Facebook marketplace and picked them up last month, but hadn’t really toyed with them much. They recommended me some hybrid pedals to ease myself into it more, *Shimano PD – EH500.* They gave me some advice and the confidence to give them a shot, and went out for my first ever ride clipped in this evening.
I get it. I never thought I’d ever be interested in this, but it just clicked for me tonight. It was completely seamless and I never once regretted trying it at all. 15 mile loop tonight, and I’m pumped to really get at it and see where else these new pedals, and new method of biking take me.

Too much hassle having to clip in an out at every stop sign and red light, and then having to change shoes when I get to my destination.
