Parents i desperately need your help. I got this Thule Yepp Mini secondhand/used and when i installed it, its too reclined and so close to my seat. I’ve seen pictures and videos online, but those dont look like mine. Is it my bike?
How can i fix this problem? Thanks 🙏🏼

Not much in the way of a fix IMO. I think these seats only really work for bikes with really long top tubes and upright riding positions. I bought one of these and ended up returning it because I couldn’t figure out how to mount it to any of my bikes in a way that would be safe to ride.
Idk about the seat, but your fork is backwards
It’s only meant for “city” bikes. IE the handle bars are much higher than your saddle.
Your fork is on backwards. please fix that
No fix. Not the right bike
I honestly wouldn’t use a child seat like this under any circumstances. It’s a long way down for a baby in a crash! A trailer is much safer! Good luck!!!
This could be fixed with high rise swept back handlebars maybe? Soma Dreamrisers maybe? Just to get you up and away from the kids seat.
Fix the fork
If your kid is in the seat they should have a helmet on. Even a tip over from that height can cause massive damage.
Judging by the third pic, your kid wants you to attach it to the roof of your car.
Reminds me of mama-bikes here in Japan. They’re everywhere. Toddler seat at the back, smaller toddler seat in the front, then a grocery basket at the very front. Both toddler seats can be covered.
This is a great product and I used it with both my kids for years, however I’m on an XXL mountain bike and I’m 6’5″. The bracket doesn’t look bent, so chalk it up to bike sizing and geometry. It’s definitely better for taller people. When your kid is older I highly recommend MacRide, but, again, best for tall people.
This is the wrong version. For an MTB, you need the Thule Yepp Nexxt 2 Mini. I have it, and it works great on my MTB
Is the issue that you’re bumping into the seat with your chest when you’re riding? Or that you can’t straddle your top tube to mount/dismount?
If it’s the latter then you could consider a dropper seat post. That’s what I did so I could just lower my seat to mount/dismount when the child seat was mounted versus the usual straddling the top tube maneuver.
There are other brackets that can be used which may be a better fit for that bike. But what I did was bend the L bracket up so the seat sits more upright. But as others have said these seats are annoying, get yourself a shotgun seat and get the kid on it at ~18 months.
I work at a bike shop. We do not recommend these types of seats for kids. If you crash or fall, the kid is attached to the bike and it could tumble or slide.
A Burley is a much safer option.
