This is the first summer with my T line and I had several embarrassing moments when I was not able to unfold my T line due to the front self aligning hinge clamp.
I applied food-grade lubricant but does not work at all… I have to shake the bike and dump it to the floor to get it released.
I can bear with it at home, but not in public especially when there are many people moving around.” Now I lost my confidence in T line, Brompton experts, what is the cause and any fix possible with it?

Unscrew one and look for damaged wall like in ballpen, thats block ball from releasing. I needed new one. Sometimes few degrees unscrew works
Your detents at fault easy fix likely just needs adjusting or replacing also why are you using food grade lubricant?
I had a similar issue, I don’t know if you’ve had a different model like a C line before but try following the line of the handlebar catch nipple when pulling it out of the catch if that makes sense? The angle seems slightly different to other models and I realised I was dragging it against the catch. When I unfold it now it comes away easily.
