I need help. I went from 200mm to 220mm rotors. My fork has 180mm pm 7 inserts.
So I bought a 40mm pm adapter.
I used the screws that came with the adapter, to mount the adapter. And the screws that were attached before, to attach the caliper to the adapter.
They’re too long. Can I use it like that?

Why would you not be able to use it? As long as they hold in place it’s ok…
As long as they’re not hitting anything they’ll be fine. If you’re worried, throw a bit of blue loctite on them. I’d send it!
sure can
Go to the hardware store and get some shorter bolts
I’d get shorter ones for esthetic reasons. But as long as they don’t touch anything and can be tightened to specs, this is totally fine from a technical point of view.
You’re 100% going to die, bud.
Brake bolts are a M6 x 1.0 thread. Any hardware store should have them in stock. Just measure the length you need. That being said so long as the screws aren’t pushing into the fork below the adapter there is nothing wrong with running the threads long
