It really depends on what you want to do. I think Thunderos are a great tire but slightly over-hyped. I think the Gravelking X1s are a slightly better tire for all round use. In my case I’m 90% gravel, and end up on some pretty rough terrain.

Can your bike fit 50’s? If so I would put the new 50mm dubnitals.

I’ve used 48mm tufos and 2.25 burts on the zipp’s and they’ve both been great

  3. There’s not one single best tyre… If you wanted optimal tyre you’d have to change them all the time depending on the conditions etc. I’m running Hutchinson caracal race 45mm and they are GREAT. But as soon as there’s mud and the conditions get difficult it turns from great to pretty bad. It’s a race tyre. Dry=good, wet=bad

  4. Just got into gravel bikes, so no opinions on tires, but is that a pink Trabant propping up the bike?

Running Thunderburts in 2.1 and really enjoy them. They survived unbound 200 with no punctures, and still doing great with about 1K miles on them.
