A mix of nostalgia and opportunities led me to this monster. I had an inbred summer season back when it first launched. It’s been a super fun bike that I had fond memories of. It was one of the first slack hardtails and featured a 66.6 deg head angle with a 130mm fork. I recently found a frame for sale online and could not resist. I reinterpreted it as an adventure bike with a rigid karate monkey fork and a big fat 29r front wheel. I aimed to have roughly the same HA as I had back in the day with a 130mm fork. First ride will be a weekend camp out starting tomorrow

That color combo is perfect for a mullet setup, bright enough to spot on the trail but not overdone, and the rigid fork with the 29er front is such a smart way to modernize something with real history behind it.
