  1. Before I relocated down under, this was my old stomping ground. Great to see it on the big screen (TV, not mobile device 😉). Great job fellas.

  2. 4:40 They teased my wife on a recent social group ride because she’d left her commuting pannier on her bike…until someone decided to buy extra sausage rolls at the cafe to take home. Not exactly an ‘emergency’, but at that point my wife became everyone’s best friend! 😂

  3. Really nice video. It was exploring history that started me cycling! I bought a gravel bike to complete the king Alfred's way which I have now done and passed Stonehenge and Avebury. I now often go up Westbury white horse and Edington also to see the history of those places also. I agree with the comments about seeing more on a bicycle when you pass through places!

  4. In December, you should head to Finland for the winter solstice ride, an informal event taking place from sunset to sunrise on the shortest day of the year in the worst riding conditions. You can start wherever you want, only the finish locations are pre-determined.

  5. You don’t need tickets to get really close on a bike btw fellas. Well worth getting a closer look 👌🏻
    Great video 👏🏻👏🏻

  6. Are you all uploading these rides to any of the virtual biking apps? It’s 107ºF here today but I’d love to be able to ride routes like this on my indoor set up.

  7. Happy birthday Si!

You two may be my favorite presenters because you talk about rocks in several videos, including this one. Makes my geologist heart happy.

The solstice ride videos are fabulous. I loved the banter on this video. You fellows showed off good purpose to cycling – going fun places and enjoying the journey. See more than walking, and enjoy the trip and outdoors more than driving. Perhaps hit the equinox next? The most average length day, but also a "half way to short" and "half way to longest" day cheer. 🙂

  8. The kind of route i like to do! Well presented and enough chat to make it interesting for anyone. How about doing the Ridgeway? 87 miles of mostly not tarmac from Ivinghoe Beacon to Avebury, maybe the UK's oldest road. i've ridden some of your Solstice route but you've found some interesting new bits i now want to ride this summer. But please, please, please don't call it The Stone Age, makes it sound like the Flintstones!

  9. Before Stonehenge got popular, so back in the 80s it sat unprotected in a farmers field with a leaky green portacabin with some damp boards with information on it, it was our dog pee stop and ours to if the loos weren’t blocked or vandalised, how times have changed,

  10. 👊💯 👍👍👍 especially w/ limericks 😊 seriously tho, thoroughly enjoyed the video… the views! riding ‘round historic places with Si & Conner was fun. “cycling couch tour”

  11. Woodhenge is a stones throw from my childhood home in Durrington. Used to walk up there all the time, jumping off the concrete posts. There’s a flint mound in the middle marking the grave of a child found there.

  12. Absolute brilliant vid. In 1985. I got on train to see an old friend in London. We rode out to Brighton, I stayed at patcham yha while my mate rode back. I rode south coast stayed at friends in Southampton for a week riding down there going to watch a 25 with John Woodburn riding. I then sent most of my gear home by post and rode back to Lancaster with carradice saddlebag …over Salisbury plain stopping off at said sites, Avebury being the best and I think its called Polly's T room in Marlborough? Hope its still there…amazing, Queen's of the stone age…top band aswell. Back home by Corvedale Iron bridge hostel, Axe edge hostel I peaks and home. 👊 still got all the pics from 85 bike leaning against them all. Also every detail written down. 👍🍻🍻🍻👊🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️

  13. Open invitation to do your magic here in San Diego County, California. Gorgeous San Diego Bay. Historic San Diego. Stunning rolling Coast Highway rides to the north. Countless hills with vistas from the coast to the steep, rugged central mountains — including epic climbs and descents on Palomar Mountain (over 6,000 ft) with its famous 200-inch telescope. Talk about the history of science! Sunrise Highway along the mountain crest, then down to the visually dramatic Anza Borrego Desert to the east.

Huge cycling culture here. Plus classic SoCal beach and car culture to poke fun at from your UK perspective. Guaranteed winner video!

  14. To keep in in perspective… Whilst neolithic man was building this underwhelming pile of stones, the Egyptians were building the pyramids.

  15. Brilliant video – loved it. Gotta do this ride! However, as at 4.55 gravel needs to be ridden with a lock out front suspension!

  16. 16:29 how about a ride along and the history Hadrian's Wall? Being on the other side of the pond I will most likely never be able to visit, little alone ride along Hadrian's Wall. There's has to be a path, trail, or road that parallels and follows Hadrian's Wall.
