He wanted something for cruising around town and some light gravel. These old hybrid frames are pretty sweet! 700×42 on there now and could probably squeeze in 45s. Everything but the seat and grips came from the co-op.

That’s a killer find. The brown saddle and grips give it that classic vibe and the color combo looks really clean. Those old Cannondale hybrids are solid steel frames, so your buddy should get plenty of life out of it if he takes care of the drivetrain.
I just built up an old Kuwahara hybrid and I’m shocked at how nice it is. 700x40s, rides smooothe as butter and it’s quite a lot faster than old MTBs.
This one looks *mint* by the way. Very nice job.
I keep forgetting that these exsist, the frame is soo tasty. Goes on my 700C shopping list.
