Longtime rider (on a single speed Fuji feather for 15 years every damn day) who reallly should know the basics of maintenance by now instead of taking my bike to the shop when things feel off once every 6 months or so…. I am completely spiritually exhausted by the enshitification of the internet, online resources that are flimsy and forgettable, affiliate links, top ten lists, illustrated radical anarchist zines, “CoNtEnT cReAtors,” video tutorials, and social media. I just want recommendations for decent and useful BOOKS on single speed and/or fixed gear bike maintenance. Is Zinn and The Art of Road Bike Maintenance useful for a single speed? I don’t want to buy it only to find it is entirely focused on geared road bikes. Any useful books I could buy as a manual to get me started on taking proper care of my bike and developing practical skills in maintenance that I’ll still be able to refer to and access even without internet access / in the dystopian post apocalyptic future / etc? 😉
I searched this sub and found this thread on online resources but couldn’t find a thread on books…
Thank youuuu.
