Join this virtual cycling workout through the scenic roads of Austria to the world-famous Hallstatt village.
Today, we are taking you on a journey around one of the most iconic and photographed places in the world — Lake Hallstatt (Hallstättersee) in Austria. It’s May 25th, 10:00 AM, and the weather is a perfect gift: 22°C (72°F) and pure Alpine sunshine. ☀️
We start our ride at the northern tip of the lake and follow the legendary R2 Salzkammergut Cycle Path. The eastern shore (Ostuferradweg) is a peaceful, meditative paradise where the mountains rise vertically from the crystal-clear water. Our ultimate goal is the 7,000-year-old salt town of Hallstatt.
Is it really as beautiful as the postcards say? Or is it too crowded to enjoy? We’ll find out together as we navigate through narrow 16th-century streets, pass the famous Market Square, and reach the world-renowned “postcard viewpoint.” Because of the narrow streets and crowds, we’ll eventually have to push our bikes to truly soak in the atmosphere.
