Hi guys,
I'm about 1 month into cycling and today is the first time that I have fallen on my road bike. It was a pretty hard crash while descending and ended up pretty hurt, aswell as the bicycle.
The right brake + lever is destroyed, the front wheel is visibly bent (I don't see broken spokes or anything tho) and a few scratches on the carbon fork.
The transmission seems okay.
How bad and expensive does this look? Also what things should I check that could be damaged.
Thanks!

no one here can say really, you need to get it to a shop. Not even sure what those shifters are but they look cheap, may need a new wheel, overall it needs inspected by a pro.
Get a quote before fixing it. You may be 3/4 of the way to the cost of a new bike.
That’s a Triban RC 120 or something right? If so definitely get new tires if you’re still on the stock ones, that might have contributed to your crash
I’m no expert but if I had done this I’d be looking to change brifter, handlebars maybe, wheel doesn’t look too bent if at all, maybe it’s just twisted in the steerer tube and needs loosened and aligned again. hard to tell from the photo but I wouldnt expect a new wheel would be needed. I would be inspecting the steerer tube and fork for any cracks or any evidence of crash damage. If you want to DIY this I expect it’s a couple of hundred quid, hopefully less, the brifter is the most expensive part I’d expect. Find the part number on it and google. Obviously a proper bike mechanics labour could cost but you would be more likely of a proper fix. Perhaps a halfway house is to fix yourself and pay a bike mechanic for inspection. If you’re not fully competent it’s a small price for your safety. Ride safe!!
Looks like a Decathlon bike, so you could try to reach them and get a quote for the repair, if you want to challenge yourself you could try to do an inspection of the frame and check the geometry of the fork, the rim could be trued maybe. You can easily replace the broken lever and the rim but for the integrity of the frame I suggest to go to an expert
Ouch, glad you’re ok!
You’ll need to bring this into a shop for an assessment and go from there. You’ll need that brifter for sure, and likely a new handlebar as that one is badly gouged and looks like it might be bent. Plus bar tape and cables, and then maybe truing the front wheel if it’s needed.
I’d expect to pay $300-400 in parts and another couple hundred in labour to get this all fixed up, though it may be cheaper if you live in a low cost of living area. There’s a decent amount of work to do to get this all back together, but you’re going to need a pro to get this done if you don’t already have experience working on bikes.
and this is why my broke ass fears getting a dropbar.
