  1. People of Reddit have spoken. You are going to do something else anyway, so why do you seek approval of your plan on Reddit?

  2. Not a big deal. It’s not Specialized-specific fix so any proper bike shop will do. Shouldn’t be a fix taking too long so not too expensive. Just take it to the shop and they’ll tell you.

If this was mine, I’d just sand it down with water and black sanding paper for the job.

  3. Local bike shop is more than adequate. If you don’t want to do the wet sand thing as the other person here suggested, just replace that wheel. So many wheels go to the landfill that could be used by others. But if you don’t save one from the landfill and want to buy one, get a used one from the bike shop to save some money

  4. Sand the brake surface to make sure there’s no sharp edges.
Paint the black with nail polish maybe?
    Don’t overthink it

Literally 1 minute with some wet sandpaper is all this will require to smooth down any rough parts of the scratch on the rim bed.

A bike shop will either charge you nothing or prob 1 hour of labour.

All you need is some sandpaper. You just need to remove any burr that will catch on a fingernail. Doesn’t need to be perfect. If you deflate the tire, you can easily polish it down smooth, no risk of damage.
