16 of the UK’s top women racers gathered at Poole Cycle Speedway Club to contest the coveted ‘Ade Gale Laurels’ Memorial Trophy. Leading the pack from Astley & Tyldesley was Emily Burgess, the reigning World and British Champion, twice British Champion Maddie Saunders of Southampton, Lizzy Rigley-Porter from Sheffield and ‘Wonder Kid’ Demi-blu Harris from Kesgrave. Throw in Lily Parr (Ipswich), who is a superstar in her own right, former British Champions Laura Watson (Sheffield), Lauren Hookway (Exeter) and Rachel Lammin of Southampton, and you have a really exiting line up. Don’t discount Ella Case from Kesgrave who is really impressive in the sport right now, along with British No 3 Lacey Ackroyd from Sheffield. Esmae Lewis (Newport) is a hard charger, Charlie-Jane Herbert can beat anyone on her day, and the fast starting Shannon Tucker from Exeter will be out to impress. Youngsters Lola Martin (Hethersett) and Tallulah Curtis (Poole) will be in the mix and no women’s big individual would be the same without Amy Baynes of Coventry. On with the action.

Great meeting and loved the slow motion replay. Thanks.
Great racing and commentary, a superb presentation all round!👍🇨🇦
A great advantage that cycle speedway has over motorcycle speedway in the UK is the many opportunities for women to engage in the sport
