Very cool Cannondale – what is a good price?

This bike originally had a “headshock” front suspension. They were great, BUT theyre difficult to service and find parts for. They also had an oversized headtube and headset (steering bearings).

This one has been converted to a rigid fork. There are converaion kits out there to swap in normal forks.

The issue is that the new fork rarely has the correct “axle to crown” distance, so the resulting geometry is screwey.

I cant tell if this was done correctly just by looking. And even though I’m a pretty experienced bike wrench, i would avoid this one unless i got it for less than rhe parts value, like $200.

I think the missing head shock fork means the front end would be too low. The seller is compensating for it with spacers on the top but the head angle will still be too steep.
