The first 10 km on the V552 IMU SPORT.

Last summer, I bought a frame and fork from the USSR legendary "Spetszakaz" for a personal project.

Such bikes was designed for professional sportsman and was not available for legacy market – only sport clubs was able for buying it directly from factory – as "Special order".

Those bikes was ordered especially for dedicated sportsman: frame size, tubing vendor (including Reynolds) and all components – for junior sportsman was available only USSR-made parts, for high level – Campagnolo, Simplex, Shimano, and other vendors also was available.

I spent a long time considering whether to go with the original or "imported" (for USSR those times) components — I already had some Shimano 600 and Campagnolo parts, and the original components were partially also collected. At the end, I decided to go with Campagnolo.

I had a hodgepodge of components from different series in varying condition, so I spent the entire winter searching and buying, restoring, and repairing them…

Finally I ended up with this Campagnolo "groupset":

– Daytona brake calipers,

– shifters and brake levers from an unknown series

– Mirage rear derailleur,

– Record hubs,

– Chorus crankset

– wheels are mounted on Mavic clincher rims

– handlebars with stem and headset, as well as front derailleur are original HVZ "Specialorder"/"Spetszakaz"
