For this trip, I took a train from Warsaw to the city of Kielce and started exploring one of Poland’s oldest mountain ranges — the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.

Although these mountains are not very high, they are the closest mountains to Warsaw. The region is known for its peaceful forests, rolling hills, and beautiful viewpoints that make every kilometer enjoyable.

One of the highlights is Łysica (612м), the highest peak of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. It is part of the famous Crown of Polish Mountains challenge, and many people travel here specifically to reach the summit and collect a stamp as proof of completing one of Poland’s peaks.

What surprised me most was how bike-friendly the area is.
I came here expecting a simple bike ride, but I left with a much greater appreciation for this underrated corner of Poland.
