Western area of Uusimaa which was already very popular by mountain bikers, got even more popular with the creation of Lohjanharju MTB Trail in Lohja. In cooperation with Lohja Trails and Lohjan liikuntakeskus, we filmed this new piece of art along with the beautiful town and one more exciting trail. The Trip Tip series is back!

  1. This was a nice place. Really nice city with great swimming opportunities. I liked Lohjanharju trail because it was easy to find, easy to follow (didn't get lost massively a single time) and it was great because the forest was very open and it was close to civilization so you could even leave the trail anytime you wanted. (I didn't leave, it was such a great trail) I liked it also because they kept the straight and boring sections intereting with the features like the drop (I went over the bars in the drop, didn't have enough skill to lift my front wheel up enough, I've only been mountain biking properly for almost 2 months) But I really liked this trail. I understand what you mean by "Best XC in Finland" because XC is my style so I got the most of this. The berms were nice, we don't really have those in my hometown Uusikaupunki. There were berms already at Oittaa, but the track was not so much my style, but I still liked it because it was different. I went this trail 3 times, and saw some other riders. In the second go, I decided to try the drop, but it was a failure. I crashed and my front feel stopped and I ended up going over the bars. Yeah. My favorite thing was after the large downhill when there were gravel bumps. They were fun to go at speed. I also liked it that you had to climb up to the sports field to go to the trail. Extra opportunities to raise your heart rate are always great. Lohjanharjun MTB-reitti has been my favourite trail so far out of all MTB trails. It had great guidance (of where to go), great features (berms, gravel bumps, drops, jumps, and even that one wooden feature that didn't really require skill to go), great location (Lohja was an otherwise beautiful city too), and the fact that it was a loop. It also had enough challenge in the Korpi part of the trail. I had to take the chicken line in many of the jumps. It was fun that it went under the highway and then back, to the Ilokukkula (which had nice views)
Sorry for the kind of poor wording. I tried to include everything into one comment so I wouldn't need to reply like 10 times. Thank you so much for this tip, without you I wouldn't have known to come to this beautiful town with great MTB opportunities.

Edit: sorry for the long comment, also I went the other trail you recommended but it was too dark so I didn't find my way. Need to visit again some day

  2. You are so underrated!! You give facts and more info of the places you are going and you're also showing the mtb!! I don't have to skip anything cuz the whole video is interesting. Keep it up!❤️

  3. I love these videos. Thanks so much for doing them in English. My Finnish is still terrible after 3.5 years here, but I really want to do more, and the language can be so tough finding places, routes etc. (esp. with a wife who's not at all interested in riding). We just done some Fiskars trails yesterday due to watching your other videos recently, so Lohja is now on the list too. I reckon with the smooth packed nature of the trails there, my kids would be much more able to do them (the Fiskars blue and reds yesterday were way too muddy, roots, rocky and technical for them to even try yet, but they did really love the pump track). Loved the chicken sound effects too! cheers! kiitos paljon!
