You can cycle from Chelsea in west London to Stockwell in south London entirely on quiet streets and protected cycle lanes.
The route is 5.2km long (3.3 miles) and makes use of the recently closed to cars Albert Bridge.

Great to see all those Lime bikes at the end
There is a ramp to the bike parking under BPS. When you turn into Battersea Park Road, instead of turning into Thessaly Road, keep going up to the traffic lights and turn left. You'll see it on the left side.
I have to say, though, that the bike parking is awful. I can never make it work!
Have you managed to check bramerton street and upper Cheyne row yet. I cycle home via these now even tho they are one way in the other direction for cars. There are rarely cars on them and I just give them the right of way, no bother. Easier than navigating the super busy crossroads at the fire station. The only thing that raises brows is turning right off kings road into the 2 giant no entry π«π« signs. The cab still let me pass as I'm sure his brain did the cogs on the route and thought sensible, but I'd rather have a cycle sign there open up a new route and remove us from the chaos corner x
Is this a reupload? It seemed vaguely familiar.
Is there an underground car park at Battersea Power station and if so do you have to drive down the stairs or lift like the cyclists?
Great route, thanks a lot! I love seeing routes around this area
LONG MAY IT CONTINUEπ
@6:28 why is it always Lime bike riders?
why are they noticeably worse than Forest etc?
Long may the bridge be car free!
5:54 The bike ramps are the entrance/exit for the car park on pump house lane. I didn't realise for a quite a while.
There's bike lanes down in the car park which head to the bike hub and exit via fire doors next to the lift by the hub.
All the fire doors have big buttons to open the doors too, really big.
There is a narrow bike lane on the ramp down into the Power Stationβs parking as you approach from Pump House Lane that peels off into the bike storage area
The only problem with this is that you end up in Stockwell

4:00 I love a duel with a happy ending
Excellent video! Thanks for documenting this route. Really interesting comparison between Stockwell and Chelsea's respective psychological and geographic distances… Was this always the case or something linked to London's radial transport routes? As a local, Albert Bridge is proving a handy cycle route… Cheyne Walk to Royal Hospital Rd is quite a handy way into Victoria. Also from Kensington Gardens you can follow Queen's Gate all the way down Old Church St, nip through Justice Walk then go over the bridge. Great history on DWR btw! Cheers,M
