Just picked this up an hour ago from a friend who bought it from an 80 year old man yesterday. My friend knew when he went to visit the guy that it was too small for him but didn't have the heart to deny the guy the sale, so new bike day for me.
It came with a custom made (for the bike by Raleigh) matching saddle bag which contains the original service manual and some Raleigh tyre levers.
It's 30 years old this year so I'm thinking to convert it to single speed, get a nicer saddle on it, convert the threaded headset to 1-1/8th and change those cantilevers to V brakes.
Any input would be really helpful! Thanks. 🙂

Add some ortlieb panniers and a water bottle and pack some toaster strudels. Start you bike tour in Deadhorse AK and then make your way down to Key West FL. Perfect first tour. Oh, bring an extra tube, damn I almost sent you out there totally unprepared.
If you change the headset to threadless you need a new fork. Why bother? Don’t fix what’s not broken.
Get a bike that is the correct size
Absolutely love the colour.
I would just put some new faster/lighter tyres on it and a better saddle then just ride it as-is until it fell apart.
Wouldn’t bother spending any money on new parts, would quickly become a money pit.
