  1. I'm so glad I've found your site because the two main caravan, camping and motorhome clubs have been overcharging and underperforming for many years! This is a disparity between those sites that have good management, and those who don't give a shit. The manners and attitude of some staff are so atrocious it beggars belief they've been allowed near humans in general! But that's for another time and another rant.

Currently, I'm on a site in the far southwest of England, that at first I thought was brilliant. I've now changed my mind. For the most part, the pitches and the site roads are all very sharp gravel, and not small gravel either. For people with any kind of mobility issues it is very difficult to walk on and leads to a great deal of pain. While I understand the pitches need gravel, the rest of the site doesnt, and the only alternative is the grass which is riddled with dog poo, despite designated dog walks! The only areas that are tarmacked are for bins and recycling. Also, considering the size of this particular site I would have expected waste bins to be more accessible, especially those for dog waste.

While the shower blocks are very spacious and clean, the one at the far end of the camp is absolutely freezing! When I arrived the heating wasn't working but it was eventually fixed and was on for about a week, but now doesnt appear to be on at all! No doubt to save money. But I paid a lot of money to stay here. £845.00 to be precise for 28 days and what is effectively nothing more than a glorified park up with electricity! I kind of expect a lot more than that for my hard earned pension and club membership.

But by far the biggest problem with both clubs is that they allow pets on ALL their sites, yet exclude children on some. I tell you now, give me 50 children to one selfish, self-entitled, self-important dog owner and their dog. Or should I say multiple dogs! It's like bloody crufts on every site I've ever been on! Being disabled and living in a small caravan it would be grossly unfair of me to have even 1 dog, let alone 4, 5, even 6! Yes, people seem to think it's fine to impose their menagerie of animals on everyone else. They let the dogs shit and piss wherever they like, especially at night when they think no one is looking! Well I'm looking. AND recording. I'm fed up opening my curtains in the morning to find dogs shitting right beside my pitch!

While I appreciate site staff can only do so much, it's time the clubs took more responsibility for this and started imposing limits on how many animals can be allowed with each outfit. In particular, the clubs really need to establish sites that are pet-free in order to cater for many people who either have allergies to pets, or animal phobias. Maybe the club should impose a monetary fine for those members who constantly ignore the rules, which are extant for a very good reason. Dogs are animals. They walk on all fours in every kind of detritus known to man and then some! They lick their own genitals and some actually eat their own faeces, which is why most vets will advise people NOT to let their dogs lick their faces, especially those of children. There is a place for animals in a home but they must not take precedence above humans, no matter what animal lovers may believe.

In general, it's not the pets I have trouble with just their owners. But no matter where I go it's like an open dog sewer, and I'm seriously considering legal action against the clubs under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, AND the Equality Act 2010. And finally. The next owner who lets their dog come bounding towards me, whether on a lead or not, will get the sharp end of my walking stick! It will be no good you telling me they don't bite, because I DO! Happy bloody New Year.

  2. I’m just saying, this is not one of the worst, but it’s one of the best barmouth caravan site when you step out you have the lovely view of the ocean. It’s all clean the toilet the shower is everything is in place. Nothing is broken. Nothing’s dirty just a great caravan site.

  3. This made me laugh. I think the Martello caravan park in Jaywick closed down last December. We go to Seawick in Jaywick and it’s Great. I know we are not common the beach is stunning. 😂 our children love it!
