Birmingham always gets bad press, and although it’s not perfect, and there are definitely parts with higher crime, the majority of people go about their day without issue. When compared to most cities around the world, Birmingham isn’t that bad.

Woah ten seconds of footage in the city centre during the day, you've convinced me it's not a dump!
The city centres tend to be okay cause they’re kept clean for any possible tourism etc. Try walking through the terraced streets without it being a shithole in any city in the midlands for starters. I can tell you for a fact that Leicester,Derby and Nottingham smell like toilets and the kerbs are inches high with dirt and litter. The streets of Bombay are cleaner I’ve been there too. The only difference is you don’t have children chasing you for money cause they sleep on the street. Give it a few years and that will be our reality too 👍🏻.

Who spreads this nonsense in the U.S that the U.K. is dangerous? London is safer than most American cities. And other British Cities are safer still than that.
Yep, I lived there for 30 years and the people all the salt of the Earth. It is a nonsense to say it is a violent city. I honestly think American slagging off the UK is something they say to make themselves feel better about their own country.

You picked the only good bit, it's my hometown and wouldn't venture into town centre or any of the inner city areas, Handsworth, Smethwick Aston even West Brom are now third world dumps.

I was there a couple of weekends back, in Digbeth. I lost count of the (not) number of car to car shootouts I saw. It was (nothing) like Mad Max!!!
I was walking along that very same place today and was stabbed to death twice. The true horror must be told!
I could make the same fatuous claim by filming in any American High School on the weekend saying "Look, there's no Shootings here".
