Fuji Royale was a decent bike. Gonna last you another 40 years

Miata 610, Lotus Excelle, A hand-me-down Electra from my grandpa-in-law… I feel attacked. But also steel is real.

Holding on to the 1985 Bridgestone 400 I bought off Craigslist for $200 in 2009. I knew nothing about bikes but I will never give it up.

‘89 Trek 330. Good bike, real ship of Theseus though. Not much left stock, the stem/fork headset bearings, BB cable guide, and seat post punch bolt are about it.
Love that bike.

I love old bikes and ride a 30 year old mtb all the time but they’re definitely over glazed. Touring on my mtb and a modern gravel bike with fork mounts and disk brakes was so much better.

Unless something catastrophic happens or I shrink and can’t physically ride it I have absolutely no reason to ever get rid of my Fuji series IV touring. It’s at least as old as I am and reminds me that with some maintenance, I could be up and running better too. 😂

I am happy for you 🙂

Bought my carbon fiber trek off a guy on Craigslist who made frankenbikes as his hobby 15 years ago. Anytime I’ve walked it past a mechanic they go “what the fuck is THAT?” And have to examine it like a judge at a dog show.
I love this bike. It feels like it weighs 5 lbs, it rides amazing, but also everything on it looks wrong.

My 04 Redline Conquest is so much fun to be on. I love that bike

I have had the privilege of despite growing up poor, my father always did his best to give me and my brother proper bikes.
Despite having decent mid-level bikes my whole life, the most fun I have ever had was finding a shitty 1970s ROG 10 speed in the trash with half the parts missing on it, taking it back home over country borders and then fixing it up… Then doing a century on it.
