A few weeks ago, Ruth spotted a post in a women’s riding group from a rider who was nervous about picking up her first big bike in Manchester and riding it all the way back to the North East on her own. So we offered to meet her at the dealership and ride with her for the first couple of hours.
We met Valeria at Robinsons in Rochdale, where she collected her brand‑new Kawasaki Ninja 500. From town traffic to open countryside, through Bacup and Burnley, and on to Route 59 Café, she handled everything with so much calm and determination.
On the way to Wetherby, a set of temporary traffic lights sent us on an unexpected detour — and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful roads I’ve ridden. Narrow lanes, huge views, and that “on top of the world” feeling that reminds you why we ride.
This day felt like WanderMoto in a nutshell: women supporting women, building confidence together, and finding joy in the unexpected.
